Idiot Rant #1

Took up blogging again. Ignore the skin, at least it's better than the default ones.

While I'm pretty sure no one will ever read this, I'll still write down what I feel. So much stuff to rant about, yet so little space. A blog would be best.

Part 1 of #1

Have you ever considered that the Singapore government's education policy is a biased one? Perhaps some people do, and I belong to them - the Idiot genre. Lets say supposedly one sucks at studying, but is proficient in some other form of talent. He or she tries to enroll into a Polytechnic course he/she is very interested in, and is talented in. However, the Singapore government views results as the top dog. That person fails to get in. 'But that's what appeals are for!', you might say. Wrong. No matter how talented you are, some other fellow with a skill on par to yours with higher grades would get chosen. You are then left behind in the dumps.

People seems to think that good grades will make you do well in that course. Not necessary true. High grades will get you far, but only so far. You have the brains, but you don't have any other thing. Talented people will excell. Ever wonder why ITE graduates get a higher pay than most Polytechnic/JC graduates? This is it.

The never ending race for first place is clouding the human mind. Being the first doesn't automatically makes you talented. Being the first doesn't gives you everything. Parents are always pressing their children to get good grades, to be the top in class. It is also true that most student suiciders gets too much pressure from their parents and friends. I'm not totally pushing the blame on to the parents though, the child also shares a portion of the blame. If they are not always aiming to be the top, not always comparing their results with other people, we'll have less of such said suicide cases.

I understand that it is only natural for humans to want to be first. Humans are also vain by nature. It is those that exercise self-control, judge and think maturely that always comes out top. I'm not saying it's wrong to be aiming for the top, I'm just saying do it to a certain extent. If that thing you're after is out of your reach, retreat and grow more, then come back and attempt to grab it. Mindless charging towards your goal will do nothing, and will hurt you instead.

The bottom line. MoE, give equal opportunities to every student. We have goals and dreams. Just because we have bad grades doesn't mean we wouldn't excel in what we do. Everybody deserves a chance, even a second chance. If we don't learn and do well after our second chance, I'll gladly concede.

Part 2 of #1

I'm coming back to religion again. The truth be told, there are so many Christians/Catholics in the world today because they didn't have a chance to choose. I'll go more in-depth on it.

Children born in Christian families are always brought up from young to be devoted to Christianity. At such a young age, the child will not be able to choose for himself whether he really wants to be in that religion or not. From my view, not every child born in Christian families are 'childs of God'. What they are, whether you accept it or not, simply is the sperm fertilizing the egg. 10 months of growth in the mother's tummy, the baby is born. Simple as that. I'll be plain. Making your child a Christian while he/she doesn't know anything is idiotic. Isn't that equivilant to forcing someone to join Christianity?

While I'm certain that parents of these children are eager to let their son 'serve' the Lord, I believe everyone is entitled to a choice. Being brought up from young with everything religious thrown to you will almost certainly make you want to join that religion. A solution? There are no solutions. There are no solutions plainly because the Christians wouldn't want to hear it. Here is my suggestion.

-Before engulfing your child in the religious fire, at least let him/her be able to choose for him/herself first. After that, throw everything religious at the child, THEN let him decide.

Because I am an Outcast since birth, I'm able to say everything out. My opinions might seem one sided, because it is. I feel the hate for Christians. Not Christianity, but Christians. Y'know why? Because most of them are fanatics. They're unable to accept the Catholics. Why? Because of some stupid old writing in an idiotic book. Catholics and Christians worships God. They use the same bible. So why not? Only because the Christians seems to only obey some old saying and never move on with the world. Yes, again, I repeat. I bash Christians fanatics with my words. Smite me down for all I care.

Finale of #1

The second part of my post isn't in accordance with my blog name. An apology is in order. Idiots are more than abundant in Singapore. I'll sniff em out. One shitbag at a time.

How do you know if you're an idiot?

If you fall into three or more of these, you're a winner.

1) Most important factor, a typical Singaporean.
-A typical Singaporean can be found out by
a) Rushing in the MRT like no tommorow and not letting passengers alight first.
b) The typical 'ah beng' and 'ah lian' hairstyles.
c) The typical 'ah beng' and 'ah lian' "fashion" style.
d) Not speaking/typing/writing in average English.
e) Mixes heavy Hokkien with Chinese/English.
f) Speaks broken english.
g) Shouts out loud, everywhere, everytime, every place.
h) And the list goes on.....

2) Purposely drifting off topic everytime, and try changing the topic to your favour.

3) Being sarcarstic everytime you find yourself on the losing end of a conversation and/or talking to your hated enemy.

4) Only plays DoTA, CS, and other Asiasoft games, thinking they are the only games in the world.

5) Dresses up in a ridiculous style that only you yourself think that it's cool.

6) Combing some kinda idiotic hairstyle that only you yourself think that it's cool.

7) Don't know proper internet etiquettes.

8) Being a gangster or belonging to some kinda basketball/soccer group or band, thinking that it is cool, and is a chick magnet.

9) If you're one of those people whom I've stated in Part 1.

10) You're a Christian fanatic.

(From dictionary.com,

Fanatic

1. a person with an extreme and uncritical enthusiasm or zeal, as in religion or politics.)

----------------------------------------------------

How do I know all of these? Simple, I'm an idiot too. And I get the rights to criticize other idiots who are way more of an idiot than I am. I am also proud to announce that I'm not a typical Singaporean. I rock. And there you have it, my 10 step guide to identifying an idiot. In the next post, I'll be identifying a few idiots. Get lost now. I mean it.
