Manga Plot Scenarios

Way back during my secondary school days, I discovered my love for drawing. It was during then that I literally swore to produce a manga about my class when I got pro. I still haven't forgotten that "oath". Many ideas popped out inside my head these past few years for my manga, one of them are formulated together with a few of my friends. Here are some of the more interesting ideas:


Scenario #1: Forever Fantasy 4/2

Yeah, stupid name, I know. Basically, the plot is about the students in 4/2 discovering a conspiracy in their school. The school principal, Mr Ang, along with several of the faculty staff, were in fact attempting to create an alternate world in which technology was at it's bare minimal, and were replaced by stuff you normally only see in games, such as monsters, magics, and adventurers. Of course, Mr Ang was planning to take over as the supreme ruler of said created world, creating a massive army of magic wielders and invading into our current world.

Attempting to confront Mr Ang in his office, the students of class 4/2 have accidentely triggered the early birth of the alternate world. Because of it's unstable state, gateways appears throughout the globe, linking the alternate world with reality. However, only those that have witnessed the birth of the alternate world are able to see and use said gateways to travel between the 2 worlds. Enraged, Mr Ang took advantage of the situation and forcibly threw every student of class 4/2 into the alternate world. Scattered and lost in a strange new world, the students of 4/2 attempts to reunite and confront Mr Ang once again, putting everything back to normal.

I could see this going somewhere, but I'd rather draw and write a story based on my real secondary school life. So this idea was junked rather early. Another problem is that this scenario is more suited to be a game scenario instead of a manga one.

Other ideas I had that tie in to this once includes a sidequest of sorts involving all the characters getting gender-bent and have to try to get back to their normal selves. This scenario was put together with a group of my best buddies. Kinda wasted that I'm not planning to use it after all. But I can see myself coming back and revising this scenario for my future mangas.


Scenario #2: Today in Class 4/2 (Due to copyright purposes [Kyo no Go no Ni], this is only a temperory title)

No plot elements will be disclosed, as this one is the current working copy. I'm aiming to make this one a 'Slice of Life' and a 'Comedy' manga. Names for everybody is changed. Register numbers remains the same. If this manga ever goes live, I'm pretty sure my mates in 4/2 will recognise it right away.


Scenario #3: Mahou no Enpitsu (Loosely translated as Magical Pencil, again, title isn't finalised)

Okay, this one has nothing to do with my class, but I felt this was a good idea for a story.

The story follows Souji, a introvert otaku mangaka whose mangas never sells.

The genre for this scenario would be 'Romance', 'Fantasy' and 'Comedy'. I really like how expansive this scenario can be. A pencil that makes drawings come to life is every artists' dream. A lot of ideas can be gotten out from this point alone. This one will probably be my next manga series after my class manga, provided I get that far.

Edit: I deleted the 'plot' section of this scenario. Just in case I want to use it in the future. The above 2 paragraphs are all that's left.


That's it. Ideas ,I have. The drive to draw it out on paper, I have not. ...I need a girlfriend for that drive.

Yet another post.

Well, my brother went into the Home Team Academy 2 days ago for his National Service. He'll be out in 8 more days, so my parents and I weren't too worried.

My parents and I, along with the siblings and parents of the other enlistees were granted a tour of the Home Team Academy. In my dad's words, "They want to tell us that the government isn't fucking up my son by giving him lousy food and poor lodgings." But yeah, the food was alright, won't be as nice as home cooking, but it'll do. The barracks area was nice and cool, and the beds were alright. Apparently, the enlistees do not need to do any extra cleaning of the domitories and toilets. They are only required to keep the area around their beds clean. Again, in my dad's words, "Huge fucking improvement from my time." Yeah, my family ain't exactly friendly with words.

So yeah, I'll see him next Friday. That's when they're allowed to book out for the first time. He'll be able to come home every Friday after that.

Moving on.

I made an appointment with my friends 2 days ago to talk about... stuff. One thing that I thought I left behind in Secondary School was classroom drama, but no, it's back haunting me again. This is nothing to brag about, but I do have my fair share of drama back in the days, so I believed I could mediate for the drama between 2 ladies. Long story short, Friend C and Friend H had a dispute between money, and some... personality issues. I don't want to take sides, so I won't elaborate on the matter for now. I can say this though. Both of them are at fault. Their choice of words was wrong, and that escalated matters. A good friend of mine once told me this: "Once you have said it, you can never take it back.". I believe this phrase can be applied to Friend C and H's scenario. I suggested that both of them meet up to talk. Friend C wanted to cool off before doing so. In the end, she decided that the best time for a meeting would be after school reopens, which is around Early - Mid April.

I don't really want to see the two of them fall out. Making enemies out of each other after a 8 year long relationship because of money is kinda dumb ain't it?

Alright, I've just finished watching, or rather, reading 'Welcome to the N.H.K'. I will admit, I shed manly tears while reading the later chapters, because I have experienced those scenarios before, and in a way, I know how the characters feel. I'm now up to Episode 4 of the anime. If I can shed tears over a bunch of still images, I can't wait to see how I'll react to moving animation.

The next year also marks a start to my "lonesome poly life". My friends are all split up, each walking different directions. Sure, I have Friend A to accompany me for the gaming track, but I'll have to mingle with some other people for the project because he'll be participating in some other Java activity. I'll have to mingle with people I don't know. The gaming track class only have around 10 people total, including myself and Friend A, so I'll either be with this group of people, or that group of people. ...I'll go with whoever I can convince to make a erotic visual novel game for our semestral project.

There's also the attachments and FYPJs. Both of them are hell. FYPJ involves sitting in a cold rectangle room with your teammate(s) and rushing the shit out of your project. Every - fucking - day from 8.30am - 6.00pm. Lets see... one... two... TEN FUCKING HOURS. Ten fucking hours in a cold room, doing nothing but facing a desktop. And most of the time, the people in there won't be doing their projects either. It's like NS, except it's more of a waste of time. Oh, and I forgot to mention that your team is required to code in a random language chosen by the teacher. Yeah. Friend W and Friend J got hit hard with a totally new programming language. Friend W was struck on the head by .NET applications, and Friend J got hit in the balls with PHP. Both unfamiliar languages. Well, good luck to them.

Attachments are more or less dependant on your luck. Friend J's girlfriend, Friend F, got posted to some company ALONE without any partners. Don't know how to do? Die, no partner, cannot help. Friend F wouldn't have much problems in that scenario. If it was me, I'd fail the attachment 10 times over.

Final random thoughts before ending this post:

'Shit, results coming out on 17th March. Die.'
'Have you ever noticed how professional orchestras NEVER EVER look at their conductor? So how come when I was in the Chinese Orchestra, we were basically asked to make eye love with our conductor?'
